When each day seems to bring trembling somewhere in the world, I’m at work revising my memoir. Who knew where the journey would take me? Back and forth across a life to ponder its meaning and contribution.
Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us. —David Richo
Writing a memoir is the most challenging project I’ve ever embarked upon, and taps into my decades of work in pediatrics, healthcare administration, and my own evolving family relationships. Merging a lifetime of experience with philosophy and stark honesty, each chapter reflects the personal growth — and struggles — I have reconciled to bring about healing and acceptance with the most important people in my life. Reinforcing love and understanding has become my life’s message, and I hope my insights will inspire and enlighten others to embrace the challenges we face with an open heart and mind.
